After much delay, Samsung finally started rolling out the Android 15-based One UI 7 software for select Galaxy devices. Notably, the One UI 7 beta program began on December 5 in six countries: the US, Korea, Germany, Poland, India, and the UK. The One UI 7 Beta update brings a host of new features for Galaxy devices, which is currently limited to the Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The new update brings features such as the new live activity pill Now Bar, separated notifications and Quick panel, new app icons, a new camera interface, a host of Galaxy AI features, a call transcription feature with support for 29 languages and local dialects, and much more. One UI 7 Eligible Devices
To enroll in the One UI 7 Beta program, you should have a Galaxy S24 series phone, which includes:
- Samsung Galaxy S24
- Samsung Galaxy S24+
- Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Do note that the Galaxy S24 FE, which was launched a few months ago, isn’t eligible for the initial wave of One UI 7 beta testing.
Besides, you need to ensure that you have one of the eligible devices and you reside in
- Germany
- India
- Korea
- Poland
- The U.K.
- The U.S.
Currently, the One UI beta program isn’t live in other regions. As far as other Galaxy devices are concerned, more devices will be added later on, such as the Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, etc.
How to sign up for and install the One UI 7 Beta update?
Before you begin to download and install the One UI 7 Beta update, we highly recommend that you back up your data on a PC or external hard disk to ensure that you have access to it in case things go south. This is also recommended in case you come across some bugs or glitches in the beta version of the app.
Here are the steps you need to follow to sign up, download, and install the One UI 7 Beta update on your Galaxy S24 series phone:
- Make sure that you signed into a Samsung account. If not, then create one.
- Download the Samsung Members app on your Galaxy S24 series phone from the Galaxy Store or the Google Play Store. Do note that the Samsung Members app is the app from which you will get the option to sign up for the One UI 7 Beta update.
- Open the Samsung Members app and look for a banner that says One UI Beta Program. If it isn’t present, then click on the announcement icon on the top-right.
- Under the Notices section, look for Registration for One UI 7 Beta Program.
- Tap on the notice or banner, and you will be shown all the details about the One UI 7 program. Tap on the picture and hit the Join Now button to enroll successfully. (Do note that the beta program seats are filling up fast. So, you may want to rush if you wish to experience One UI 7)
- Agree to the terms listed by tapping Enroll and then Agree.
- Then, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
- You will see the One UI 7 beta update downloading on your phone.

When will the stable One UI 7 update start rolling out?
It is tipped that the Galaxy S25 series is due for launch in early 2025, supposedly on January 22, 2025. It is expected that the Galaxy S25 series will boot with One UI 7 out of the box. This means that the stable update will begin rolling out alongside the upcoming Galaxy S25 series.
